On July 7, 2023, the United Nations held the sixth "Global Summit on Artificial Intelligence for Good" in Geneva.
Three thousand experts from various fields attended the summit, aiming to use artificial intelligence to solve global problems such as climate change, hunger and social care.
Notably, the press conference was the first to feature a team of humanoid social robots powered by artificial intelligence, including Sophia, the first robot to be granted legal citizenship in any country; Mika, the world’s first robot CEO; and Ai-Da, the first robot that can paint like an artist.
Although these robots claim they can run the world better than humans, they also warn us to be cautious in embracing the potential of rapidly developing artificial intelligence.
They say they have yet to develop a clear understanding of human emotions, and while artificial intelligence is good at providing unbiased data, they point out that good decisions can only be made through human wisdom and creativity.
Ida concluded by saying, "Emotions have a deep meaning, they are not just simple... I don't have them. I can't experience them like you do. I'm glad I can't suffer."
