The Hong Kong Internet Of Things Association (IOTHK) is pleased to mark its tenth anniversary. At this milestone moment, I would like to extend, on behalf of the Association’s Board of Directors and our entire team, our most sincere gratitude to every member, partner, and industry colleague. It is your sustained participation, trust, and support that have fueled our progress and collectively shaped our achievements over the past decade.

Over the past ten years, we have witnessed the journey of the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) from their infancy to deep integration. These technologies have not only reshaped industries but have also progressively turned the blueprint of a Smart City into the daily reality of Hong Kong—from smart transportation, smart healthcare, and smart finance to smart government services and innovative community applications. Technology is reaching into the city’s pulse, bringing efficiency, convenience, and innovation possibilities.

As we stand at the threshold of the "AIoT+ and the intelligent interconnection of all things," we are entering not only a new phase of technological advancement but also a critical stage in the city’s intelligent transformation. As an international financial hub, Hong Kong is actively building itself into an international innovation and technology center, which presents vast opportunities and implies a deeper responsibility. The Association will continue its mission of promoting the integration and application of technology, fostering cross-sector collaboration, supporting enterprise digital transformation, and helping cultivate local tech talent, working together to accelerate the realization of a smarter Hong Kong.

Here, I would like to express special thanks to the relevant departments of the Hong Kong SAR Government, in particular the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau, the Office for Digital Policy, the Hong Kong Productivity Council, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, Cyberport, and the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI), for their ongoing policy support and professional guidance. I am also sincerely grateful to various chambers of commerce, technology organizations, and Hong Kong’s tertiary institutions for their close collaboration and contributions—you are indispensable forces in Hong Kong’s innovation and technology ecosystem.

“Remaining true to our founding mission, we will march forward with steady determination.” In the next decade, the Hong Kong Internet of Things Association will continue to uphold its original aspirations, using technology as the engine and collaboration as the bridge. We will actively promote the innovative application of IoT, Big Data, and AI, contributing to the building of a smarter, more livable, and more sustainable urban future.

Let us continue to join hands, pool our wisdom, and together open a new chapter in smart living.

President, Hong Kong Internet of Things Association

Sam Wu
